Kissable
Daru Jones the drummer/producer, who drummed for live acts such as Slum Village, Black Milk and Hi-Tek & Talib Kweli, has produced an EP featuring Swedish-Carribean singer Kissey Asplund. You might not know her, but if you like electro-soul, neo-soul-jazz, deep house hip-hop and/or abstract broken beat, you probably digg her. Think J*Davey/Stacy Epps/Tiombe Lockheart over a heavy live drum or drumsample. Something like that..
Tracklist:
*Rat Race Up & Down
*Sweetest Day
*Please
*No Matter What They Say
*So Good part 2 (Go-Go Mix)
*Lift Me High (Outtake Instrumental)
*And It Looks Like (Outtake Instumental)

Frisco
I'm remembering my dad loved to sing this song on karaoke, when I was still living at my parental home. Now one of my favorite artists is doing his version.
Mayer Hawthorne ends his US Tour on April 15th in San Francisco and to commemorate that occasion, Stones Throw has teamed up with local clothing brand Huf and designer Freegums on an exclusive Mayer Hawthorne collabo pack featuring a t-shirt and a heart-shaped USB with the song "I Left My Heart In San Francisco" on it. Soon available at Frisco Store Arnhem. Full circle..

I reminisce, I reminisce
Of the concerts I had to make a photo report of for Urbanstart, this one was the toughest. When hip-hop icons like Pete Rock & CL Smooth perform on stage, it's hard not to get into the vibe and keep doing your job. Especially when Dave Redi, good friend and MC of Front Porch Poets is standing next to you celebrating his birthday. And on your otherside someone who is on the same level as you are. Good times!

Inspiration
Don't know which video I like more. Erykah Badu's Window Seat or this one. Both songs sound great. So it comes down to the ending of Lessons Learned and the message in Window Seat..
