Talib Kweli and DJ/Producer Hi-Tek are Reflection Eternal. You know Talib and Mos Def formed the deadly duo Black Star. Now what happens when you put these three guys in one room with Jay Electronica and J Cole: Pure dopeness.

"This is the first of a one-a-month, twelve-CD series from Madlib. Madlib Medicine Show No. 1: Before The Verdict is a full 17-track hip-hop album with original tracks and The OJ Simpson Remixes featuring Guilty Simpson. There are two brief guest appearances by MED and J Dilla, in a short, previously unreleased interlude.
Worldwide release of Madlib Medicine Show No. 1 will be January 2010. The CD is available now at Stones Throw Records. Madlib Medicine Show No. 2, Flight to Brazil, is a mixtape of Brazilian jazz, funk, prog-rock, folk and psychedelia. Later releases will include Beat Konducta in Africa.
CD Instructions: 1) tear off and dispose of the yellow title card, which has been attached for 'retail and marketing purposes', 2) play loud and 3) play repeatedly!"

One day I go to Japan... most definitely
Two weeks before I started with my own blogspot I saw this documentary about Mos Def's tour in Japan on Current_. I completely forgot to plug this doc, so with a two months delay here it is. Konichiwa, b*tches!
Mayer is king
Some people think he's a nerd, but actually he is one of the coolest dudes on the block.

Weekend kick off
This documentary film from 2005 about the sneaker phenomena and history is a classic. At least, if you're a sneaker head. This is not a trailer, this is the full version of Just For Kicks.
If you haven't seen this doc yet, either you have been sleeping the last couple of years or you're just not a real sneaker freak, haha! I won't jabber about it too much, so if you ain't got something to do during the weekend just watch this and get educated. Have a nice weekend!

Back 2 da future
I love collabo's, but this one is really extraordinary. Remember the car in the movie Back To The Future? And you know The Hundreds apparel. Well, The Hundreds took collaborations to a whole other level: The Hundreds x DeLorean.
The Hundreds used to be one of my favourite brands, but I still got a weak spot for it because of Olivia Munn. Long brown hair, freckles, green eyes, I'm just sayin'. Her The Hundreds photoshoot is classic! But we're talking about men's other love now: Cars, haha.

Here to stay
Last Friday I heard the album ...Just Visiting Too of Zo! for the first time. Kinda late though. Anyway, if you love British jazz/funk/soul, you should check it out. I could place a download link of this album on this blog, but I won't. If you like it, support the artist and buy it!

Food for your ears
The first thing you need to get the day started is a good tune. At least I do. With sites like MySpace, LastFM, Imeem, etcetera you can't see the wood for the trees. The offer is huge.
Lijn5 host Venz came with a simple concept called 22 Tracks: specialists of different music genres deliver you a selection of, guess what, twenty-two tracks. The playlists are updated frequently, so you'll always be on point. Check out Beats, Dubstep, Originals or Soul for example (hint).

Lot's of love
This weekend my arty partner in crime and I went to a ruin somewhere in Amsterdam for a project we both be working on. To see what we wanted to see we had to climb rumble, avoid holes, go through gaps and rooms with no light, etc. On it's own a whole adventure.
They weren't there, but we found out that there were people living in this three storey high ruin. Mattresses, simmering fire wood, clothes, empty bottles and beer cans. Another unexpected thing we noticed: really a lot of tags refering to love. I don't know whether they were put there by graffiti artists or one of the inhabitants. Anyhow, just like us everyone should be surrounded by love.
At the end..... love wins
Most things look better when you put them in a circle
